I've got Norton SystemWorks in case of problems with the HDD but it has OSX and OS9.2 partitions, neither of which boot. So, a single internal HDD looked risky. With the two HDDs, if one develops a problem, I can always boot from the other and used an installed SystemWorks to recover the other HDD.
